About Me

My mother bought me my first film SLR for College in 2001, a Minolta x370s. That was a long time ago for me. Since then I experimented with various "toy cameras". I had a Diana Mini 35mm, Holga Panoramic Pinhole 120, Lomo LC-A/LC-A+ 35mm, and other 35mm rangefinders. I really enjoyed the Olympus XA/XA2 & Stylus Deluxe mj-u ii the most because of the quality of their lenses, while the Lomos, Holga, and Diana were really just trendy cameras that gave lo-fi styled looks. Learning how different films gave different signature color variations became an addiction. One that costed more $$$ than I care to admit. It was fun playing with negative films and cross processing slide films but I needed to make a change. There was too many films in my freezer that I dreaded using because I knew the cost of processing, printing, and digitizing. In 2014 I bought a Fuji XT-1 with various prime lenses, but I just wasn't happy with the results with it. Upgrading to a Canon 5D Mark 3, and finally to a Nikon D850. A full-frame sensor changed my perspective and opened my future. I still sometimes use the Minolta analogue manual lenses on my Canon. It amazes me how much I've learned and are still learning about photography & my calling.
